The Sealed Knot by Megan Milinczuk
children in the regiment

Bacon sandwiches for breakfast, tents pinned up everywhere, the nearest loo half a mile away, and drums sounding every couple of minutes-What am I talking about? The Sealed Knot, of course! I’m here to tell you what it’s like being a kid in the knot (hopefully, it won’t be too boring). Here are some tips to making the most of your weekend…

Being a kid you have to have modes of entertainment e.g. a book, or some games etc. for when your parents have gone to the tent next door for an hour or so. For the pub, I recommend trying to start a conversation on a subject that you like instead of sitting there munching your crisps, doing nothing.

children can have a lot of fun

With the battle, try and get a ‘Battle Guide’ (£2.00) it tells you about the flags of the Regiments and about the history of the battles themselves. If you can’t, it doesn’t really matter, because you can still watch the battle anyway and enjoy pointing out your parents and their mates.

Being a Parliamentarian I think all Royalists are filthy scallywags (Sorry Royalists. Not.) and I’m sure the other Parliamentarians agree with me. Well, I hope they do. Some day, we Parliamentarians shall manage to destroy the Royalists. Remember, this is not war for the Parliamentarians; it is pest control (with guns, pikes, drums and some pretty flags)
I hope you like the Sealed Knot as much as I do. Because I really like it.
