Dear All
Due to the unfortunate cancellation of Colne we are proposing to take advantage of the now free weekend to commemorate the Battle of Naseby instead in association with the Naseby Battlefield Project Group over the weekend of the 21st/22nd June and we would dearly love your support as a follow up to the very successful event at Kelmarsh and to continue our work with the group towards the building of a battlefield centre at Naseby. This event will be hosted by Hammonds from London Brigade
We will be providing camping, both Friday and Saturday night and memorial service will probably take place on the Sunday morning at 11am, including a wreath laying on the Cromwell memorial. The Saturday will involve adding local colour to the Battlefields Trust annual Naseby get together including viewing of the field that has been purchased for that purpose and where most of the event will take place.
If, like me, you feel passionate about putting Naseby on the map and are a keen supporter of making sure that important battlefields are not lost or forgotten or think that we should add Naseby to our annual memorial events, then please come along and support us.
Much more details will follow shortly but the camping will cost £2 per adult as we need to cover the hire of toilets. The camping will be within walking distance of the event, and there are stacks and stacks of excellent pubs in the area, in particular the Royal Oak at Naseby which is a renowned Camra pub, with an excellent selection of beers. We will be taking bookings so that we get an idea of numbers for the event.
Looking forward to seeing you there
Lesley
Chief of Staff to the Army of Parliament
